How to control your Christmas tree
What is such a smart Christmas tree and what are its features? Probably every one of us has lights on his Christmas tree. And to all of us it has happened that these lights have forgotten to turn off at night, which of course is essential for safety. So we are lying happily in bed with a completely calm conscience and we suddenly think of it .. Tree!
Not so satisfied and willingly we have to get out of bed and go off the lights on the Christmas tree.
Imagine that you can easily avoid such situations. You can turn your tree off and on anytime, anywhere using your smartphone. Or you don't even have to worry about anything at all, you simply set the tree to light up at 7:00 in the morning on weekdays and turn off at 22:00 in the evening. On Christmas Eve it will be lit from 8:00 am to 1:00 am the following morning and during holidays from 10:00 am to 11:00 pm. Amazing though?
So let's talk about how to do it. The easiest way to do this is to use a smart Shelly PLUG S.
Connect the smart socket to a regular socket, where the tree is plugged in every year and plug in the lights. Simple. Download the free Shelly Cloud app (for remote access) and Shelly Home app (for device control) applications. We will add a socket to the app and we can set up an automatic scene to turn the socket on and off depending on the time.
(Note. Shelly devices are WiFi smart home devices that don´t need any control unit)
You can also add the Shelly smart socket to your Homey or FIBARO Home Center 2 (in FIBARO HC 2, this is possible using a virtual device). Of course, both controllers can communicate with the Z-Wave intelligent socket FIBARO Wall Plug.
If you are a fan of Apple devices and are using Apple TV or home iPad, we have something for you. HomeKit FIBARO Wall Plug is the perfect solution if you want to control your Christmas tree directly with the Home app on your Apple device.
Enjoy undisturbed holidays in the circle of your loved ones and without unnecessary reflection on the lit Christmas tree!
Wish you Happy Holidays!
