Home Assistant Voice Preview Edition is aopen source voice assistant privacy-focused, designed to seamlessly connect with Home Assistant and showcase the future of voice today. Its advanced audio processor and dual microphones allow it to hear your commands and control your devices. Tactile controls, a designer case, and an LED ring add a premium look and allow the device to blend into your home.
Note: Voice Preview Edition requires Home Assistant to function. Weaker Home Assistant hardware may result in slow speech processing. If you have lower-performance Home Assistant hardware, you should move speech processing to Home Assistant Cloud.

Advanced audio processing
Dual microphones and an XMOS sound processor filter out noise so your voice can be heard clearly.
Visual and audio feedback
A multi-colored LED ring displays when listening, adjusting volume levels, and more. Get sensor data, timers, and other feedback through the speaker. Connect an external speaker for media playback via its 3.5mm jack.
Physical controls
The rotary knob lets you control the volume and LED brightness, while the multifunction button can launch Assist or customize its function in Home Assistant.

Built on ESPHome, sensors can be added via the Grove port.

Fully open source software, firmware, and hardware let you make it work the way you want. All supported by a dedicated community that customizes and adds features.
Private voice assistant
Pairing the Voice Preview Edition with Home Assistant's powerful hardware can allow it to run fully locally or offload its audio processing to the privacy-focused Home Assistant Cloud. It also includes a hardware mute switch that physically cuts power to the microphones.
Language support
Assist aims to support more languages than other voice assistants, but it's still a work in progress and Home Assistant needs your help. See supported languages in the Home Assistant documentation.
