Warning 1: A non-commercial (private) client = a natural person who has connected iWattMeter to a household (house, flat, cottage, cellar, garden house, workshop ...) has the use of iWattMeter free of charge without a monthly fee. An individual can purchase more iWattMeters and use them in the same household.
Warning 2: If WattMeter is used by a commercial client in direct or indirect connection with their business, these entities pay a fee of 10 Euros / month (excluding VAT) for each installed iWattMeter connected to Watt Analytics. Fees are paid one year in advance, ie 120 Euros per year.
The purpose of the iWattMeter device is to detect and measure the harmonic components of an electrical signal and to transmit them via the Internet to the watt-analytics.com portal.
The electrical signal is measured using the so-called non-invasive monitoring using current transformers. This method allows the measurement of the signal without the need to interfere with an existing electrical installation. At the same time, it is very fast, because the increased consumption of electrical energy on a given conductor is manifested immediately (in real time) by an increase in voltage at the output of a current transformer. Similarly, a decrease in power consumption is reflected in a decrease in voltage at the output of the current transformer. If the measured conductor does not supply any electrical equipment, no current flows through it and thus no voltage is present at the output of the current transformer. The direction of current flow in the measured conductor affects the polarity of the voltage output measured at the output of the current transformer. In this way, it is possible to measure not only consumption but also the supply of electricity from the appliance (household or business) to the producer with one device. An example is the measurement of the power of solar panels that are connected so that in the event of an excess of energy produced, they supply their current to the distribution grid.
The measured signal is processed in real time in the iWattMeter separately for each phase. These data are transferred using a custom format to the cloud storage of the watt-analytics.com portal via a local (home) WiFi network. The data transmission is secured by encryption and access to the watt-analytics.com portal is protected by name and password.
